We love it!

So we just got the M5i Strider and we had a bit of an issue with the screen. Luckily, Keizer has an amazing customer service line and they walked us through it all. The strider works great now and I am loving it.

Keiser strider elliptical and m3i bike

VERIFIED PURCHASE
I got the elliptical, along with the m3i bike about a month ago. First the bike, I’m new to spinning so not sure if my review will help any. The bike kicks my butt-period. Still trying to find the right setup as far as saddle position and handlebars. I’m not on it as much as I am the elliptical, maybe 2-3 times a week, sometimes twice a day. The bike is well made; whisper quiet and smooth with a small footprint and like others have noted looks like a piece of art. Now for the elliptical. This was purchased to replace a 12 year old Sole elliptical that I was using daily. It took me about a week to get used to the Keiser because they are very different. The Keiser has a smaller stride which was really hard to get used to, at first I wasn’t...

The bike is well made; whisper quiet and smooth with a small footprint and like others have noted looks like a piece of art. Now for the elliptical. This was purchased to replace a 12 year old Sole elliptical that I was using daily. It took me about a week to get used to the Keiser because they are very different. The Keiser has a smaller stride which was really hard to get used to, at first I wasn’t sure if I’d like it. The first time on it was for 45 minutes which is my usual routine. Let me just say, the next day I was sore in places I haven’t been sore in for awhile. After using it a month I must say I like it a lot better. I no longer have aching knees like I did with the Sole. I feel like I get a better upper body workout with this elliptical than my old one. Also, the old machine was a huge tank, very loud, and not smooth. The Keiser has a small streamlined footprint, is extremely quiet, and smooth, and again looks like a piece of art sitting in my den. I look forward to getting on it every day. Now for what I feel could be improved upon- the foot pedal I feel could be a little bigger with a rim all the way around it; as it is now there’s a rim only half way around. I feel as though my foot is sometimes slipping. The next thing would be to recommend shipping in two completely separate boxes. Both were packaged beautifully with the bike well packaged in one box and then placed in a huge box with the elliptical which was wrapped in plastic. They were delivered on a pallet, when unboxing you could tell the bike box rubbed against the arm of the elliptical taking about an eraser size part of the powder coating off. There is no issue with performance it’s just a minor cosmetic issue. Again probably not putting bike in the box with elliptical would solve this. I love both pieces of equipment and highly recommend if you have the space and or money to purchase both pieces, you will not be disappointed.

I dump my Norditrack for the Keiser M5i for the following reasons: total body work out, no stress on my joints, super smooth magnet fly wheel, extremely well built, no gimmick (so less chance of breakdown), and small profile. Oh, did I mention that Mike - who assisted me with the sales is fantastic?

Thanks for the shout out Duy! Everyone here at Keiser is always happy to be of service.

Love this machine!

VERIFIED PURCHASE
I'm sure things will work out eventually, but the only thing that's bugging me about the M5i, which I otherwise love, is the clicking I'm getting from the left foot-rest on each rotation. Have contacted Keiser and waiting their reply at which point I will update this post.

Keiser responded:

Hi Jerry,

Please keep me posted! I couldn't find your most recent inquiry in our service portal, were you able to submit a picture/video of the issue? That really helps us with the diagnosis.

Thank you!

A good find! Grateful!

Our elliptical arrived cross country on 3.3.21 (ordered 2.9). My wife and I are thoroughly enjoying this machine. As advertised - the unit came fully assembled and ready, wrapped and secured on a pallet with a huge box over the top. TIP: if going into the garage? Have the box cut away from bottom portion of the pallet and lifted off the pallet BEFORE going into garage. After removing the strider from the pallet, the M5i rolled right into place on our first floor just inside the garage very easily with two people.

We have completed several workouts. I suffer from a lower back injury and was encouraged by my doctor to find a new and low impact exercise and suggested a bike. Several bike reviews later, I found one that led me to the Keiser bike and then I...

We have completed several workouts. I suffer from a lower back injury and was encouraged by my doctor to find a new and low impact exercise and suggested a bike. Several bike reviews later, I found one that led me to the Keiser bike and then I saw this strider! We never considered a home elliptical (our preferred cardio workout at the gym) because they are typically too big. This one is perfectly sized for our bedroom / "covid era" workout area.

The M5i runs very quietly; I have had to tighten the bolts on the handlebar (moving) assembly a few times to eliminate some squeaks from loose bolts. The resistance levels offer a great range for the kind of workout desired. The polar monitor strap is nice and works with the Keiser app I have downloaded and used to track my workouts. Initially, I found the heartbeat data very erratic. But then I tried soaking the strap with water vs. lightly wetting -- the accuracy of the heartbeat improved considerably; however, now, the heartbeat works for the beginning of the workout but then goes to zero. Several workouts have saved as "incomplete". I am wondering if that ties to the heartrate data not being complete? I need to further troubleshoot…

The media tray fits my work or personal laptops, my ipad or my phone. I have been on work calls while on the strider doing a workout. That is AWESOME, actually. My wife is 5' 3" and I am 5' 7". She would prefer the tray a little lower, but we cannot adjust that direction. Overall, though, we are both very pleased.

Keiser responded:

Thanks JDG, for this I would recommend you connect with our service department to troubleshoot the heart rate issue. We're always around to help!

Thank you,

Solid & well built machine!

VERIFIED PURCHASE
This is a solid elliptical but I do have 2 gripes. Number & most notably is the digital display. For a piece of equipment to cost over $2000 after shipping, I would think he display would be the most current up to date tech but trying to get this display programmed to pick up bluetooth signal takes a engineering degree. It should NOT be this difficult & I consider myself pretty tech savvy. Other equipment you buy you set up the item in discovery mode, it picks up your wifi, you're done. This, you have to move the pedals certain rotations back & forth & within a certain amount of seconds or it crashes or starts over again?? Also, one of the foot rests squeak. Other than those 2 items I love this machine but can't give it a 5 out of 5.

Keiser responded:

Hi Joe,

Thanks for your feedback! What you're describing sounds like either the "numbering" procedure, which is not needed for Bluetooth setup in the home, or the calibration procedure, which is also not necessary as the M5i computer is calibrated prior to leaving our factory and does not require re-calibration unless you need to replace the display or the magnet housing is damaged.

The only thing you need to do to set up the Bluetooth from a home use standpoint is to pair the M5i to the app you're looking for through the app's Bluetooth menu. If you reach out to our software team by sending an email to service@keiser.com someone can better assist you with this.

I'd also like to get our service team to examine the squeaky pedal as that's not typical of the machine. All you need to to is give us a call or send an...

Quality Machine

The machine is well constructed, very solid. Smooth and very quiet. The monitor is very basic, no programs or detailed display, but I have adapted in that regard.

Imagine being able to use an elliptical outside at sunrise....

VERIFIED PURCHASE
Have had my M5i now for 3 weeks, felt was ok to give a review now.
Pros - compact, not outlet needed (mobile), hardly any noise; its a workout.
It's home is in my bedroom, but I have rolled it out to the living room and watched Five Nations Rugby to squeeze in a work out. The only sound it makes I think is the magnet and belt (I hope)which is hardly noticeable; and the space taken up is not much more than my recliner. Since there is no need to plug into an outlet, I have rolled it outside a couple of times on nice mornings to my back patio. It will work you. As stated the stance is not the same as an everyday elliptical, I felt things all over my body within the first 15 mins (legs, core, back and arms). I did...

Cons, well one is shipping cost. However it does come assembled (note, right here in the USA!)and people have commented it looks like a piece of art vs. workout equipment. So its a tradeoff I guess. Some might say price, but again assembled in USA. And this thing is solid, I mean great materials and assembly.
If looking for a great piece of home equipment, and want to even move it from place to place without having to think about a power outlet or limiting where you workout, you need this!

Now I am saving up my pennies for a bike, but hope by that time they have the same option as shipping assembled...

Keiser responded:

Hello C.A.,

We always have the option to ship the product fully assembled, just send us an email to shop@keiser.com for more information! We also have a returning customer discount.
