5-Star, Solid / Extraordinary machine

First and foremost, the Kaiser spin bikes are simply rock solid. They are seriously industrial strength machines and for someone who takes a modest amount of care, I feel they would / will last the rest of our days….at home. My LA Fitness has approximately 60 of these in the spin room and we all know that they are used and abused more or less on a daily basis. One of these in our homes should last many many years and then some. They ride and feel solid from the moment you clip in. They’re solid when...
They’re solid when out of the saddle, climbing. They’re extremely quiet…other than the SPD pedal / cleat interface. That is not a bike issue, just the way those are. It was actually really neat for me to get my own M3i after so many years of using them at the gym. A nice brand new one is even nicer! The home consumer model even looks better: black base, darker grey body.
Being an avid road cyclist, I initially purchased the Wahoo Kickr home trainer. That is Wahoo’s best, made to accept most any moder bike design and allow you to send the data to any indoor cycling app. I’ve been using Zwift and love it. Well, the Kikr is great but just didn’t feel “right”? I could feel my carbon bike flexing a bit when out of the saddle. That was NOT a good feeling. I even stopped coming out of the saddle when on that trainer, not terrible for 60-90 minutes but not great either. So, I would up find g my Wahoo Kikr to my spin instructor. Hey, he has provided me with an amazingly fun place to go and train and even helped me get through tough times and prepare for event with his guidance.
Back to the Kaiser M3i… After getting over the high cost, ok it’s expensive. It really is, over 2K is a tough pill to take……I am honestly extremely happy and pleased and even smile walking in the front door and seeing it in the living room. It’s facing my TV, which is connected to the Apple TV for running the Zwift app. As the M3i web page says, it connects through Bluetooth with NO other dongles or accessories to worry about. If it wasn’t for the Zwift app OR if you were not going to connect to some kind of app or other training type thing, I would totally go with the standard M3, no need for the “i” in that case. But if you are interested in ever connecting to something like I’ve mentioned, you will want to get the M3i. LA Fitness uses the M3’s. I already had 2 pairs of spin shoes with the SPD cleats, so that was a quick and easy. The package included the nice thick base mat, great for any floor, hard or carpet.
I can’t think of any negatives other than the price. It’s very expensive. But thinking about this as an investment, for someone who actually rides and spends time in it, it’s a no brainer. There is no other spin bike on the market I would have considered. Especially not that silly peloton contraption. NO this is not a paid advertisement…lol. I how this wasn’t too long and helped someone who is considering the purchase. I’d say: if you are serious about your fitness, want something solid and dependable and can help you do indoor cycling to augment your outdoor cycling, the Kaiser M spin bikes are excellent.
