I've been looking at spin bikes for several years, but there was always something that kept me searching until I found THIS bike and THIS company. There are several other aspects about buying a spin bike that matter a great deal to me. Where is this manufactured (USA), maintenance schedule, customer service levels. Keiser hit all the parameters. They actually answer the phone with a human, fancy that...no recording asking you to listen carefully as our menu has changed... I called several times with questions after watching the videos and each time I got to speak to a human. I despise having to fill out an email ticket and give out personal info and then wait to have someone call back with an answer. When I received my spin bike, it was double-boxed. There was a substantial plywood foundation...
There was a substantial plywood foundation supporting the spin bike. All the parts were carefully packaged and labeled. I disagree very much with anyone who says that Keiser should include the tools necessary to build it. Happily, I have lots of tools except the crow foot and that was easily found at Home Depot. For those that don't have tools then Keiser...you may want to have an option where for a reasonable price, you supply *good* tools. I certainly wouldn't want to pay more for a bike with added tools that I don't need. With that said, I put this together with my man in approximately 45 minutes, and that was us talking and having a good time. The information given was straightforward and completing each step was easy. I suggest watching the video first if you have any doubts, then unpacking and checking off each part. The price of this spin bike is definitely worth it. I've looked at the highest rated and most popular bikes on-line for several years, and I've talked to my friends who own spin bikes, and those on forums, who like the Peloton. I've taken spin classes at several of the larger gyms to get a good feel of the differences and was fortunate to be able to ride this bike at a gym that was just replacing all their bikes with the new Keiser M3i. This bike has the most smooth feel and is rock solid, not to mention, it's so dang beautiful! No gawdy orange or screaming yellow. The flywheel is a work of art, the pedals are well-designed to hold a shoe or clip in. I have spd cleats and always clip in, very solid engagement that can be adjusted. My man has size 14 feet, plus they are very wide feet, and he has no problem using the cages, or if he clips in, there is no foot rub on the frame. The bike has several ways to adjust fore and aft, up or down; you cannot feel uncomfortable, and I really love the handlebar layout. I'm 5'9" at 145 pounds, he's 6'3" and weighs 260 pounds of solid muscle. Yeah... I was worried he'd walk that bike across the room when he got going on it, but it was solid, quiet and stable under him. He has very long legs and is totally comfortable on this bike. The Keiser saddle is extremely well-made and ergonomic (what a surprise there). I have 6 bikes (mountainbiker) and I know the value of a good saddle, I totally endorse this one. I really appreciate the layout of the bike in regard to the sweat zones, that is huge. Also, the simplicity of getting on the bike, start riding and that screen will give you everything you need, no need to start pressing a myriad of buttons. If you desire more, download the Keiser app which will add pertinent data if you like roadie stats and graphs. I also ride with a Polar V800, and it is quite close in heart rate when you give the app your vital information. So really, the look of the bike, feel and engineering are phenomenal. Customer service is unique, I did one more thing before committing, and that was go to a Peloton dealer at the Mall of America and try out their bike. Ummm, no and no. It’s a spinbike with a honking big screen, and the feel is not as good as on the Keiser. My gut feel is the price of the Peloton should be half of what they are selling it for because of that screen that someday you may not want. If you decide you are tired of their spin classes and/or paying the monthly fee, you have a bike with a useless screen in the way. I also prefer Keiser’s lever versus a round knob, it is much easier to engage, especially when you need to stop immediately, no more thrashed knees! I will also add while Peloton’s bike is heavy, it isn’t built as well and attention to the smaller details is lacking. My guy (who is actually a rocket scientist…heh… along with other engineering medals) said the same thing. He likes to look at the guts of things and putting the Keiser together was like a 5 star meal. I would much rather have an incredibly well-built spin bike, and purchase an app for my TV if I want live classes. Like many who purchase gear, you have done your research, and I would buy this bike again. This company hit every level, and I'm very happy I finally added a spin bike to my arsenal.

Keiser Responded:

Nita,

Wow, thank you so much for your review! You really highlight the areas we focused on with regards to customer satisfaction, and I'm delighted to hear the cycle scores so high with you.

I will pass this along to our manufacture team and CEO, it will make their day.

Best,

Just finished assembling my new bike. Overall, not too bad of a process and I’m far from being a handyman. Thus far, I love it and look forward to getting incredible use out of my M3i

Best Home Exercise/Spin Bike on the Market

VERIFIED PURCHASE
The M3I is amazing. It's beautifully-designed, takes up much less room than you'd expect, performs quietly and smoothly. I'd ridden the older Keisers in my gym and the new M3i is far superior: better seat and handle bar design, better media set-up, smoother wheel and adjustments. I'm a serious road cyclist and this is the best off-season, wet day workout you can get. Shipping was fast and assembly is relatively easy. You'll need a few more tools than you might expect, but once you have them it's pretty straightforward and the directions are clear. This is a great bike and well worth the money.

M3i review

I like it a lot. The assembly went well. YouTube videos helped, and you just have to be patient and have the right tools at hand. It is so convenient now. If it's poor weather, I can hop on and get a good spin and watch a movie.
