Great bike, but be wary of the power reading and calories burned numbers.
Keiser responded:
Hey Dale,
A lot of variables here, but the ISO certification is different from our power accuracy certification; we were the first company to submit a cycle for EIN 957 certification for power accuracy on an indoor cycle, and we passed handily.
Without knowing the makes and models of the other machines I can only speak to our accuracy and go a little bit into the models for calorie calculation. If you don't measure a person's weight and get some metabolic information beforehand calorie calculation will always be a bit of a very educated guess with some assumed parameters. That being said, our calorie calculation is based off of watts produced and takes a lot into consideration to make the number as accurate as possible.
Thanks for your feedback!

No Extra Parts...
I have been riding Keiser for 20 years at LA Fitness and nothing on the market comes close to the smoothness and gradual resistance and the fit and finish of the material is beyond compare.

Rattling seat
When I’m riding the bike strenuously, the seat and post rattle back and forth, and left and right. What gives! This provides a constant annoyance and distraction.
I can’t believe that a mostly metal smooth bike wouldn’t have a rubber gasket or other shock absorbing material for the seat post inlet.
Because of the constant annoyance, I’ve resorted to shoving a thick piece of paper in between the seat post and the portal.
Also, it’d be nice if the software guided sessions, were either programmable or just a better app. Unimpressed with the lack of features. My Apple Watch is way more informative that the...

Sincerely dumbfounded and annoyed.
Keiser responded:
Hi Mollie,
In checking the service record I see we suggested tightening the seat post adjustment knob, did that correct the issue? From the video is really seemed like that would do it, the seat post adjustment system has two components: the push-pin/plunger and the friction lock.
It's worth noting the guided sessions in the app are programmable, the parameters of the guided cycling sessions in the Keiser M Series app will change if you take the FTP test again! That was our intention, you take the FTP test to benchmark yourself, then ride for a while and improve. You'll then retake the FTP test and the guided sessions will change based on your new score. If you had any specific suggestions please feel free to share them here or you can also send me an email.
Thank you!
