Maintenance Mechanic, In-Training - 06/16/2022

KEISER CORPORATION is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic Trainee to learn how to carry out various maintenance tasks throughout the manufacturing shop. This includes installing and inspecting machines and electrical equipment, completing preventive maintenance in order to keep machines operational, and building maintenance to ensure the health and safety of team members. To be a successful maintenance mechanic candidates should have a practical mind, mechanical aptitude, and strong attention to detail. To excel in this role, a trained maintenance mechanic should be able to ensure that machinery and equipment are in excellent operating condition.

This position may be temp-to-hire using a third-party agency. Employees are evaluated after 90 days and offered a position with the company if they are meeting expectations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assembling, installing, and maintaining mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment.
  • Troubleshooting machinery and performing routine preventative maintenance.
  • Reading, interpreting, and following instructions and operation manuals.
  • Maintaining a schedule for inspecting, servicing, and testing machinery.
  • Cleaning, repairing and installing equipment and parts as needed.
  • Operating a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Complying with health and safety regulations.
  • Performing general maintenance work on buildings as assigned.

EDUCATION AND Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of experience as a maintenance mechanic or in a similar role.
  • Trade or vocational school graduation preferred.
  • Knowledge and ability to operate hand and power tools.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Physical dexterity.
  • Good troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.

Schedule

  • 8-hour day shift
  • Monday through Friday, some weekends may be required

Work Environment

  • Fast paced environment
  • Standing for 8+ hours a day, breaks limited to scheduled meal and rest periods
  • Hot environment without AC; fans are available in some areas of the building
  • Dress code is casual: safety–toed work boots, no tank tops, no shorts

Safety Associate - 05/27/2022

KEISER CORPORATION, a leading manufacturer of exercise equipment, is looking for an experienced Safety Associate to help prevent workplace injuries and reduce health risks. This position will work with the on-site manufacturing supervisors to implement, manage, and monitor safety programs, policies, and procedures that meet OSHA guidelines and other applicable requirements. The Safety Associate will assist in monitoring and coordinating on-site environmental health and safety programs, including safety inspections, accident investigations and safety training. This individual will also help with identifying unsafe conditions and implement safeguards and solutions.

To excel in this role, you should have excellent attention to detail, good verbal and written communication, and strong technical knowledge. The ideal candidate will also have knowledge of: fire prevention, hazardous waste management, resources conservation and other safety related activities. Industry-specific experience is a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in monitoring staff to evaluate if health and safety laws are being followed
  • Investigate on-site accidents to evaluate how safety measures can be improved
  • Participate in creating plans to improve health and safety in the workplace
  • Participate in the education of staff on health and safety protocols by hosting monthly presentations with safety committee
  • Participate in the hazardous waste and disposing program
  • Manage forklift training program, licensing, testing and re-certifications
  • Assist in assessing equipment and machinery to gauge if they are in safe working order

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Compliance experience in the industry
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Bilingual communication skills a plus (English/Spanish)
  • CPR/First Aid certification a plus
  • Attention to detail is a must
  • Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) certification preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or a related field preferred

SCHEDULE

  • 8-hour day shift
  • Monday through Friday, some Saturday’s may be required

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Manufacturing plant with heavy machinery, powered equipment, and hazardous materials
  • Standing/walking for up to 8 hours a day, breaks limited to scheduled meal and rest periods
  • Hot environment without AC; fans are available in some areas of the building. Offices may have AC or swamp coolers
  • Dress code is casual: safety–toed work boots and safety glasses required, no tank tops, no shorts

  • Based on experience: $20+ per hour

Manufacturing Supervisor - 05/26/2022

Manufacturing Supervisor

We are currently looking for an experienced Manufacturing Supervisor to be responsible for overseeing the performance of assembly workers. This individual will create shift schedules, delegate tasks, manage staff, and monitor the results of daily activities. They are responsible for ordering supplies, controlling stock, and reporting the breakdown of equipment.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish daily, weekly, and monthly objectives and communicate them to employees
  • Manage the workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules
  • Guide and coach employees٫ monitoring their productivity
  • Oversee safe use of equipment and schedule regular maintenance
  • Perform verification of production output according to specifications
  • Prepare reports on performance and progress and present them to senior managers
  • Detect issues in efficiency and suggest improvements
  • Consult new employees on how to safely use machinery and follow procedures
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety guidelines and company standards

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills٫ together with a results-driven approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and an efficient problem solver
  • High School Diploma; additional degree in engineering or other relevant area will be a bonus

COMPENSATION

  • Exempt position; Minimum $62,400. Final compensation will be determined and based on experience
