The following definitions will help in understanding the studies dealing with the effect of strength training on sleep and depression.

Dysthymia:
Recurrent or long-lasting depression.

Subjective Measures:
Resulting from the feelings of the subject; what they think, how they feel.

Self-efficacy:
An individual's perception of his or her ability to successfully execute a certain action/behavior; "confidence" in your abilities.
