The following definitions will be useful in understanding the studies dealing with chromium.

Acute:
Immediate or short term.

Chronic:
Long term, ongoing.

Chromium:
A trace mineral which enhances the production and effects of insulin. It also helps to increase blood levels of HDL(good cholesterol) while reducing levels of LDL (bad cholesterol).

Transferrin:
A plasma protein which transports iron in the blood strea
